I certainly see no reason not to, other than the fact that we
currently don't support TLS/SSL on our web site or mailserver, so
it's slightly hypocritical.

Yes; I can't remember the exact hang-up on that, but it may have
had to do with personal vs. organizational use.

If we want to take this further, it's a real pain to set up things
like SSL and GPG.  These could be subjects for one or more
technical presentations.
