I'll cast my vote in favor of Blender as well. This could be an uncommonly
good opportunity for us to have a high turnout.
Keep in mind, though, that Filmmakers is only open on Saturday from
10:00-2:00, so we'd have to adjust our meeting time if we wanted to do it
then.
The other option would be to try and sneak in the meeting on a weekday
during the hour-long gap between afternoon classes (2:00-5:00) and
evening classes (6:00-9:00). If we had Roland speak from ~5:00-6:00 and
offered food to attendees, we'd maximize our chances of staff and
students attending.
If an hour wouldn't be enough time, maybe we could at least have Roland
start talking at 5:00. The people who have classes could leave at 6:00.
Some of the holdovers from afternoon classes might still stick around.
What should I tell him - weekend or weeknight?

It's been a week since our board meeting. When we met, we agreed to
spend this past week trying to get in touch with individuals who may be
willing to present on Git next month.
Has anyone made any progress? I don't know anyone local who
understands Git that well, so I'm afraid I don't have much to report.
If nobody has any leads, I may be able to save us some time and trouble
for planning next month's event: Roland Hess has agreed to deliver a
presentation about Blender at Pittsburgh Filmmakers. Naturally, since we
have a lot of media professionals (and students) here, we could bank on
getting at least a few of them to attend. If we paired the event with free
pizza, we could almost count on a strong turnout between the students,
professors, and WPLUG crowd.
Roland and I haven't discussed the specifics yet. He asked me to give him
a list of possible dates and wanted to know if I'd like him to focus on the
video editing aspects of Blender or the project as a whole.
