My first choice would be openSUSE.  Ubuntu, Fedora, and even
relative newcomers like Linux Mint seem to get more coverage than
SUSE does these days.  It would be cool to see the state-of-the-
art for the distro.

Second choice is Linux Appliances, assuming they're talking about
the openSUSE build service.  It's a pretty slick setup with a very
high "cool" factor, even if you're not going to do anything
practical with it.

I think the Samba talk would tend to appeal to the sysadmin crowd,
but not necessarily the rest of the group.  I can't really guess
what the other talk would be about from the title.
