The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM.  Board members Vance
Kochenderfer, Beth Lynn Eicher, and David Kraus were present.  Brian
Seklecki was also in attendance.

1. Minutes of the August 11/15 regular Board meeting were approved as
read.  Minutes of the September 16 special Board meeting were
approved as corrected.  Minutes of the October 4 special Board
meeting were approved as read.

  3. Secretary
    1. Ted Rodgers reported to the secretary that while it was
       located in a storage closet at CMU, the internals of the
       former WPLUG server "penguin" went missing, leaving only the
       case behind.  This was reported to CMU management, but so far
       no one within the school has admitted taking the hardware.
    2. Ted Rodgers also reported to the secretary that workplace
       demands will force him to scale back the time he can spend on
       WPLUG activities. 
  4. Treasurer - The checking account has a balance of $457.87 and
     there is approximately $170 in cash on hand.

3. Committee Reports
  1. Program
    1. Richard Weait of OpenStreetMap.org will be in town the weekend
       of November 15-16 and would like us to promote their activity.
    2. The Wilkins School Community Center has been reserved for
       WPLUG meetings on November 22, December 13, and January 10. 
  2. Public Relations - Intend to seek event listings in the City
     Paper, Craigslist, etc.
  3. Internet
  4. Investigating
  5. Newsletter - Publishers of a comic called "Hackett and Bankwell"
     contacted us with offer to provide samples and a request for
     feedback.
  6. ErieLUG - Brian Seklecki is willing to travel to Erie to speak
     about OpenBSD and the pf packet filter.
