Could you guys give me feedback on this announcement before I send it?
--------------------------
New for 2002, The WPLUG Tutorial Series.
The LUG is going to start offering a hands-on tutorial program on the
Second Saturday of Even number months. In other words, Installfests and
tutorials will alternate from month to month. Suggestions for topics are
welcome, with preference given to people willing to give the tutorial and
to topics that are of interest to the most people.
The general plan is that people will bring their computer, and we work on
the topic as a group. This means it is not an another installfest and
internet connectivity may or maybe not be provided. The room can only hold
so many people and computer so space will be limited and it will be on a
first come first serve basis.
The first tutorial will be given by me, on Saturday February 9th, 2002,
between 10-5. The topic will be compiling kernels. I plan to cover the
different ways of choosing kernel options, go over the common options, how
to patch a kernel, working with lilo and grub, and possibly a walk through
of the /proc filesystem.
If you are interested in this session, please RSVP to jo2y [at]
midnightlinux [dot] com directly.
