Hey,

Below is a rough draft of a committee creation proposal which I'd like
to submit to the Voting System after a bit of editing. Any suggestions?

Upon passage of this proposal, the following Standing WPLUG Committees
will be created:

Computer Show Committee
The Computer Show Committee shall oversee all aspects of WPLUG's
presence at computer shows and similar events. These aspects primarily
include, but are not limited to, event registration, member inclusion,
set-up, and payment.

GUM Committee
The GUM Committee shall oversee all aspects of WPLUG's General User
Meeting events. These aspects primarily include, but are not limited to,
crowd management, speaker selection, speaker management, and food
selection and acquisition.

Install-Fest Committee
The Install-Fest Committee shall oversee all aspects of WPLUG's
install-fest events. These aspects primarily include, but are not
limited to, crowd management, distribution acquisition and dispersion,
volunteer "installer" sign-ups, and food selection and acquisition.

Tutorial Committee
The Tutorial Committee shall oversee all aspects of WPLUG's tutorial
events. These aspects primarily include, but are not limited to, crowd
management, tutorial leader sign-up, and food selection and acquisition.

Special Event Committee
The Special Event Committee shall oversee all aspects of any WPLUG
events not covered by another Standing Committee.

Server Administration Committee
The Server Administration Committee shall oversee all aspects of server
administration for all computers that are under WPLUG's control. These
aspects include, but are not limited to, user, software, and hardware
administration.

Web Site Development and Administration Committee
The Web Site Development and Administration Committee shall oversee all
aspects of web site development and administration for all web sites
that are under WPLUG's control. These aspects include, but are not
limited to, new feature development and feature maintenance.

Mailing List Administration Committee
The Mailing List Administration Committee shall oversee all mailing
lists that are under WPLUG's control. Aspects which this Committee shall
cover include, but are not limited to, mailing list creation, mailing
list removal, and mailing list maintenance.

IRC Administration Committee
The IRC Administration Committee shall oversee all aspects of Internet
Relay Chat that are under WPLUG's control. Such aspects include, but are
not limited to, operator status, channel bans, topic management, and
channel policy.

Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations Committee shall oversee all aspects of the
relationship that WPLUG has with the public at large. These aspects are
primarily, but are not limited to, advertisement, event announcement,
and press communications.

Each Committee shall have one Chair, an indefinite number of Members,
and a mailing list which shall be used for the discussion of matters
relating to the Committee. Each Committee mailing list shall be "owned"
by the Chair of the Mailing List Administration Committee and the Chair
of the Committee to which the list has been assigned. Emails sent to
mailing lists from non-mailing-list-member addresses shall be replied to
with a message indicating that the message has been received and will be
considered by the Committee. It shall then be up to the Committee Chair
to approve or reject the email for general consideration by the list at
large.

The purpose of these Standing Committees shall be to act as advisory
bodies to the WPLUG Board. Formal suggestions to the Board shall be
submitted into the WPLUG Board Voting System by the Chair of the
Committee and shall then be considered by the Board. The Board has final
say regarding the passage of said suggestions.
