The Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group is holding a General
User Meeting on Saturday, October 4, 2008. The location is the
Panera Bread at the Waterworks Mall in the Aspinwall-O'Hara area.
Directions to this location can be found on the Google map at
<http://tinyurl.com/25xfpa>.

The election for the Board of Directors will be held at the
business meeting. Members with voting rights may cast their
ballots in person or by mail. Mailed ballots must be received
before the meeting in order to be counted. In-person ballots must
be received by the time the polls close to count. More details
about the election are on the WPLUG wiki page at
<http://www.wplug.org/w/index.php/Election-20081004>.

WPLUG members should make every effort to attend this meeting so
we have a quorum to validly conduct business. A complimentary
pastry and bagel platter will be provided at the meeting.

The schedule for the day's activities is:
  3:00 PM - Doors open
3:30 PM - Business meeting / Election starts
3:45 PM - Polls close / Presentation starts
4:30 PM - Presentation ends / Election results announced
  5:00 PM - All done!

Topic: "Won't you be my neighbor?"
Speaker: Beth Lynn Eicher

A preview and expansion of her introductory remarks to be delivered
at the Ohio LinuxFest, Beth Lynn's presentation will cover how
Linux and Free Software are like a neighborhood. Like a physical
neighborhood, individuals have both common interests and diverging
goals and ideals. What part can you play in your neighborhood?

The public is welcome, and no RSVP is necessary. The home page for
this meeting can be found on the WPLUG wiki at
<http://www.wplug.org/w/index.php/Meeting-2008Elections>. If you
are able to help with setup, cleanup, or other duties, please sign
up in the "Meeting Staff" section. In particular, we need at least
two WPLUG members who are not candidates listed on the ballot to
volunteer to serve as election tellers to count the votes. Thanks!
