and book your room http://www.ohiolinux.org/attend_hotel.html

If you would like to do ride sharing/room sharing with local wplugers,
please email pwagstro at andrew dot cmu dot edu to get involved with a

All Conference Pass Registration Deadline
-----------------------------------------

The deadline for All Conference Pass registration is approaching
fast! We will not be able to accept All Conference Pass registrations
after Thursday September 21st. The All Conference Pass cannot be
purchased at the door, it is only available online. The All Conference
Pass includes lunch and a limited edition t-shirt, which is only
available with the purchase of the pass.

The free conference pass will be available at the door as long as space is
available. However, seating is limited by the fire marshal, so if you
know
anyone else that is planning on coming to the LinuxFest, have them
register
today to secure a seat.

Novell's Ted Haeger Added to the Schedule
-----------------------------------------

The OLF conference schedule has been finalized, with the last TBD
date filled with none other than Novell's Ted Haeger, of Open Audio
fame. Ted's presentation, "Desktop Innovation at Novell," is scheduled
for 1:30 in ballroom 3.

We have a great lineup this year including Chris DiBona, Jeff Waugh,
Jon 'maddog' Hall, Michael Johnson, Jay Pipes, Dan DeSloover, Matthew
Porter, Jorge Castro, Joe 'Zonker' Brockmeier, Stephen Swaney, Michael
Harrington, Richard Bowen, John Buswell, Christopher Browne, Doug Hass,
Ed Montgomery, a panel on virtualization, and live penguins!

See the full schedule here:

Linux Professional Institute Exams on Friday
--------------------------------------------

As an added incentive, we've teamed up with LPI to offer LPI
certification exams on Friday, September 29. The exams are discounted
for attendees with the OLF All Conference Pass, see the OLF Website
for the full scoop here:

Ride / Room Sharing
-------------------

Many of our attendees have expressed an interest in sharing fuel and
lodging expenses to make the conference more affordable, as well as
meet new people. As a result, we have established a forum to for the
event. Registration and a valid E-mail address are required.

The forum is located at: http://penguin.ohiolinux.org/

Get The Word Out
----------------

The success of Ohio LinuxFest depends largely on the efforts of our
attendees to help get the word out about the event. As we move closer
to the conference, it is important that we work to get the word out
to everyone. Specifically, we would like to target;

- High Schools and Colleges - OLF06 is a great opportunity to learn
about Linux and meet cool people.

- Local Businesses - OLF06 is a great place to talk w/ Open Source
companies that can improve their bottom line.

- Local Users Groups - There is something for everyone at this
conference, so let them know about it.

Please feel free to blog about it, post about the event to your local
mailing lists, do a presentation on it at your LUG, tell your fellow
employees about it, etc. It is also acceptable for you to paint OLF06
logos on your pets and children. Some may find that sandwich boards
on the street corner during rush hour are acceptable. Basically,
anything that you can do (short of getting arrested) to let people
know about the conference will help us out.

We have prepared banner ads and flyers at the bottom of our Press
page for your to print out and distribute where you see fit:

Volunteer for the LinuxFest
---------------------------

The Ohio LinuxFest is an all-volunteer organized event. We need help
for morning setup and attendee check-in. If you would like to help,
please email Scott at skippy at ohiolinux.org.

Meet and Greet Friday
---------------------

We're also having a Friday night meet and greet at the Holiday Inn
for everyone that turns up early. The pre-party will be Friday from
7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and we will be serving pizza and refreshments
at the party. We hope to see you there!
