FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pittsburgh To Host First U.S. Based Perl Workshop

Pittsburgh, PA September 7 2006 The Pittsburgh Perl Workshop, a one-day,
low-cost seminar for Perl (a popular open-source programming language)
will be held at the University Center of Carnegie Mellon University on
Saturday, September 23rd. The conference is hosted by The Pittsburgh
Perl Mongers, a non-profit organization that advocates open-source
development practices.

With this conference, the Perl Mongers will bring a new tradition to the
United States. Although Perl Workshops have been tremendously popular in
Europe, the Pittsburgh Perl Workshop will be the first of its kind to be
hosted in the United States. This historical event will feature
world-class Perl developers and accomplished authors such as Peter Scott
and brian d. foy, as well as many respected speakers from Pittsburgh and
the surrounding regions. Several event sponsors will also be present for
job recruiting.

Early-bird registration is a cheap $20 ($10 for students) and available
through September 18th, after which prices will double. For registration
information, please see the event website at http://pghpw.org.
