This coming Saturday, April 5, the Western Pennsylvania Linux Users
Group will be hosting a General User Meeting in Carnegie Mellon
University's Newel-Simon Hall, room 1507. The meeting will run from
10am until 2pm and will feature a presentation on perl, by Rick Smith,
King of Circles and Arrows.
This is geared towards people who have had some exposure to computer
programming, but not using the Perl language. The purpose is to
cover the basics of the language so people can get more out of the Perl
for Sys Admins tutorial.
Topics addressed are variable types, programming structures,
making use of CPAN's collection of cool stuff written by other
people, and how to guess at what something in Perl means when
you don't know.
Rick has hacked in Perl for about a decade.
As usual, bring a couple bucks for lunch. See the webpage for
directions.
See you there!

WPLUG Vice-Chair
