Issue:[edit]

Western PA/Pittsburgh lacks a user group event calendar. There is no one-stop place for technology enthusiasts to know what is happening.

Discussion:[edit]

Western PA Linux User Group (WPLUG) is just one community of many in the Greater-Pittsburgh area which is of interest to Free and Open Source professionals and enthusiast. A calendar needs to be created with the purpose of connecting user groups and technology events. If it is open to the general public and related to computing and or free culture, it should go here. This will benefit WPLUG and the community groups which participate in this outreach effort. Furthermore, we can avoid time overlaps with cool events which WPLUG members are likely to want to support.

Similar Projects:[edit]

These websites may have the resources for listing such events but not a lot is there.

Proposed solutions[edit]

Can we really do this with Google Calendar?

If we had a wiki which supported embedded HTML, we could do so with the following code.

<iframe src="http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=1m0cs0u9722hufc95fnuskiles%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York" style="border: 0" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
