I am not a technical person***--I mostly work with open office. I started out early on as a user consultant/manual writer. I continued as a consultant (I was a "translator" between the end users and the systems designers in order to fix problems.) I never worked as a programmer, designer or analyst. I am not interested in being treasurer or anything else.  Director at Large where I belong. I find places where we can help or get new people to join us. I also try to find other outlets to make people aware of what we do.

:<nowiki>***</nowiki> On the other hand a friend just asked me about fusible interfacing--I thought she was talking about computer languages or modular connections.  It is something one uses in clothing design. (Oh well.) I think Terry is correct--maybe if we go less geek we can get more people involved at the "intro" level.

We should have a casual mtg. every once in a while, but where teens would be welcome (no alcohol).  Many people's 15 year old nephew and/or niece know more about computers than the adults.  If we do have mtgs. for people under 18, anyone who works with them should get 33/34 clearance (Child Abuse Clearance) and Criminal Clearance.  Schools require them; so should we.
